A Close Look At Our Armor Be strong in the Lord: { Eph. 6:10-17} God commanded us to be strong in the Lord, and in the power of His might, and to put on the whole armor of God. He states that we are wrestling against Satan's army, which is organized by rank into personalities, powers, rulers of darkness of this world, and spiritual wickedness in high places. God futher commands us to stand therefore , Stand is a miltary term meaning to be in readiness are YOU ready? Jesus said,And having spoiled principalities and powers. He made a show of them openly, triumphantly over them in it. ( Col. 2:15) He's Already Won the Battle for us. His blueprint for success is: 1.Put Your Armor on ! 2. Be STRONG ! 3. Stand Therefore ! Military Readiness: WHY MUST We be in milititary readiness at ALL times ? To stand against the wiles of the devil. Wiles are stragtegies or schemes. Wiles , Methodeial meaning: following or pursing of procedures in the handling of a subject. You are the Subject ! Like the terminator, he has No remorse, and he won't stop, ever. Your job is to resist! (James 4:7). If You Resist he Will Flee,But don't expect the devil to simply give up. The tiniest crack in Your armor, and watch out . His methodically pursuing YOU AND Your loved ones. The good news is that Jesus defeated the devil, and in Jesus ' Name we have the Victory . The spirit of the Anti-christ is in this world, but We are of God, and We are more than Conquerors through Jesus Christ [Rom.8:37]. Lk. 10:19 states, Behold, I give You power to tread on serpants and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by No means hurt You . Put Off Dakness and Put On Light: ... Let Us put off the works of darkness, and let Us on the armor of light... [Rom. 13:12]. (godlessiness and good works ). Verse 14 goes on to say:... Stand therefore ,having Your loins girted about with truth , and having on the breastplate of righteousness. Notice that God's armor is light, and it cast off darkness. Who is light, and it dispells darkness that person is : Jesus Christ ! We're to cloth ourselves with Him for each part of our armor is intimately related to the person and character of Jesus Christ. We Must increase to be conformed into His image ( Eph.5:8-14). The roaring Lion : The Bible compares Satan to a roaring lion. (1Pet.5:5) Lions are soft stealthy when attacking. The roar comes when they have captured their prey. However, We wrestle Not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, powers, mights an dominions ( Eph.1:21 ;6:12). However, Our Weapons ( Not the arm of the flesh) , ( 2 Chr. 32:8) , are mighty through God to be pulling down strongholds ( 2Cor. 10:4,5). We are to be sober and vigilant (1 Pe. 5:8), amd confident in God's armor. 1John 4:4 bodly states :... Greater is He that is in You than he is in the world. Call to Arms : In a world of spiritually challenaged Christians, God still declares,... Stand YOUR GROUND IN EVIL DAY ...having fought to the end, to remain victors on the field. [Weymouth Bible ] . When You become weary, your flesh is warrying with your spirit and you're the most vulnerable. But this isn't the end or the time to lay down your weapons or give up. Satan doesn't give up Ephesians Six is a call to arms. The battle is the circumstance of ife. The protection is God's Armor. The victory is in Jesus Christ ! When we learn to fight using God's armor with the fruit of the spirit , we'll blind and defeat the enemy with the sheer brightness of our armor. God's love must abound in us, for this is the true key that points our victory through the cross. Victory is in our faith: God's Word reveals ( 1 John 5:4), that whatsoever is born of God overcomes the World, and the Victory that overcomes the world is Our faith (Is.54:17). When David ran toward Goliath, his faith was not in the 5 stones that he had, but in God . He refused Saul's armor because he much better armor . Our faith is not in the armor , but God who told us to put it on. Once on, we must never take it off. HOW DO WeTAKE IT OFF? By walking in total darkness, [cares of this world, lust of the flesh, lust of eyes, pride of life]. (1 Jhn. 2:16; Mk.4:19)making choices based on selfish motives rather than God's Will for us. How can we expect to walk in God's protection (armor of light). if we don't walk in the light of God's commandments, fruit of the spirit, prayer and study of the Word. catcmo2006
