Having Your Loins Girt About With Truth The Roman girdle (belt) was 6 to 8 inches wide, made of leather or metal, worn around the lower trunk. It suspended the other armor securely and tightly against the body, while it supported the sword, and carried money and valuables; just as all the parts of God's Word are suppended by the truth. The belt was worn in the center of the body, as the truth is at the center of the gospel. The belt of truth is mentioned first in God's lists of armor because everything hangs on it.Truth is the key, and our greatest challenge.Jesus said, I Am the way, the truth and the life. (Jhn.14:6). But We Must have Truth in us to bring forth Truth ( the word ) . Behold, Thou desire (truth) in the inward parts ... (Ps.51:6). Jeus showed us, bring forth truth He that believeth on Me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living waters (Jhn.7:38). This is the River of Life and Truth, by the Holy Spirit. Truth isn't relative, or a personal opinion or interpretation, as they teach in public schools. It's Absolute ! The devil bends the truth to be his servant! He twisted scriptures in the garden of Eden, at the temptation of Christ, and he keeps twisting it now. An eye -opening scripture is [Is. 26:2]. Open ye gates, that the righteous nation which keepeth the truth may enter in. What do You think God would say to a nation where politicans purposely misquote and bend scripture for political speechess; a nation that classifies Humanism as a religion, bans prayer and Bible reading in schools, and the Ten Commandments from courtrooms? Before the Lord: for he cometh to judge the earth: he hsall judge the world with righteousness, and the people with truth (Ps.96:13) .God'S Truth should be the standard in the land, for His Word, endures to All generations. Our generation will be judges with the same plumb line He judges All others. And the Lord said unto me, Amos, what seest thou ? And I said, A plumbline. Then said the Lord, Behold, I will set a plumbline in the midst of my people Isreal : I will Not again pass by them any more: (Amos 7:8). His truth shall be thy shield and buckler. He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust:his truth shall be Thy shield and buckler.((Ps.91:4).Buckler ( Young's Concordance, socherah) means target. Comtemplate truth as a target. Truth, the desired goal, means fidelity to the orginal standard, God's Word. It something we shoot for to determine the accuracy of our aim. But it also targets Satan. Twisting of Truth and perverting the scripture is common place. When you hear this happening ( a serpant lie out of Eden, "Ye shall not surely die") it brings bondage. Loins (Vine;s osfoos means hips and precreative power. Girding our loins with truth bring life: freedom from the churse of sin and death: freedom to know the truth and let us be set free. " And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free"(Jhn.8:32). The Word is Life! My son,attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them NOT depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart". (Ps.4:20,21) Satan hits below the belt with accusations, fear doubt, poverty, sickness, and a host of other lies. In sports, decency dictates that hitting below the belt is illegal, yet satan does not feel bound by the rulers of decency. We fight with the Word of God which is all truth! The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Truth. Iinvite You to find the scripture over your circumstance., and fight satan's lies with God's Words of truth, by speaking scripture in every circumstnces in your own life. The Holy Spirit is the the Spirit of Truth, and He will guide You into All truth. Howbet when he the Spirit of Truth, is come, he will guide You into All truth: for he shall not speak of himself : but whatsoever he shall hear that shall he speak: and he will show you things to come. (Jhn.16:13). When is a weight lifter is preparing to lift, he puts on very strong armor on which is a leather belt around his abdominal muscles to protect him from injury or stress. The Lord Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit are our belt of truth. We need this foundational garment, God's girdle, in these last days more than ever, for our great decptions is coming. In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gopel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them ( 2 Cor. 4:4). And I tell you the truth, ye believe me not.(John8:32). Howbeit,when He, the spirit of All truth is come, He will guide you into All truth (Jhn.16:13) SO LET'S ALL PUT ON THE BELT OF TRUTH! catcmo2006
