Thorns - - - A Methaphor For Sin

Thorns - - - A Metaphor For Sin Thorns illustrate and symbolize Sin: Under the beauty of the rose, lurks the pain and ugliness of a thorn. As thorns pierce in (Jesus'side was pierced),they drew blood [He shed His blood for us], they make holes (holes left in Jesus' hands and feet), and can shred flesh(scourging shredded His flesh): Thorns became a metaphor for sin and punishment. As We meditate on what Jesus endured for us, our love blooms and flourishes. Jesus is the "Lily" and the Rose : I am the rose of Sharon, the lily of the valley. (Song of Solomon 2:1 N.L.T). " Who took the thorns for us on His head, and set us free from the damage or wounded memories that satan uses to torment us. He bore the curse in His own body ( 13.But Christ has rescued us from the curse pronounced by the law. When he was hung on the cross, he took upon himself the curse for our wrongdoing. For it is written in the Scriptures, "Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree."[a] Gal.3:13 N.L.T) The Curse Of The Thorns: The "Crown of Thorns" was a constant painful reminder to Jesus that He wore for us the chastisement of our peace. It was probably intended to mock the crown of laurel leaves that Caesar and other officals wore whenever they returned in victory; the purple robe was a noble symbol as He bore our sins and carried our sorrows, which the soliders put on Him to mock His claim of diety. The curse, that after perfection of Eden we should toil on the ground that brings forth the thorns and thistles, unwittingly fulfilled through the soldiers cruelity. Thorns tear the flesh was torn for us ( 17And to Adam he said, "Because you listened to your wife and ate the fruit I told you not to eat, I have placed a curse on the ground. All your life you will struggle to scratch a living from it.[(18.It will grow thorns and thistles for you, though you will eat of its grains (Gen.3:17,18 N.L.T.)]. Thorns - - The Place of the Skull: Jesus was crucified at Golgatha, which means place of the skull. This was Not an accident. The skull is where We Must be crucified daily, allowing God to mold our minds. Jesus redeemed our minds, so that now We that fall, there has been a curse against our minds. Jesus redeemed our minds, so that We now have the mind of Jesus Christ: [(16How could they? For, "Who can know what the Lord is thinking? Who can give him counsel?"[a] But we can understand these things, for we have the mind of Christ. ( 1Cor.2:16 N.L.T)]. Jesus' helment was the crown of thorns, but He gave us the helmet of Salvation [(17Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God[Gal.6:17 N.L.T], to war against the enemy, a weapon proven in battle through His victorious resurrection, to protect our minds from the constant bombardment on our thought life. As We allow ourselves to be conformed to Jesus' Christ image through the renewing of the minds, We can wear this helment, trusting in the perfectly fitted armor, because We know the One who Proved it. He showed us All that it truly Works. Pulling Down Strongolds: How can this be possible? Because Jesus Christ was tempted just as we are, yet without sin. [(15This High Priest of ours understands our weaknesses, for he faced all of the same temptations we do, yet he did not sin[(Heb.4:15N.L.T.)]. The evil desires of our carnal minds can be harnessed. How? Because of those weapons that Jesus Christ has given us are not carnal. They have been totally tried in the fire of affliction, so very extreem that only You and I can only imagine them. He wore the crown of thorns on His head so that We can pull down strongholds, the desires of carnal flesh that exalts themselves against the knowledge of God. [4We use God's mighty weapons, not mere worldly weapons, to knock down the Devil's strongholds. (5With these weapons we break down every proud argument that keeps people from knowing God.With these weapons we conquer their rebellious ideas, and we teach them to obey Christ [(2Cor.10:4,5N.L.T)].His thorns became our helment of Salvation (Eph.6). Some day WE will be wearing a crown of glory. Sin Personified: Sin is personfied beginning in:[( 7You will be accepted if you respond in the right way. But if you refuse to respond correctly, then watch out! Sin is waiting to attack and destroy you, and you must subdue it."Gen.4:7N.L.T )] Which Mean: To crouch or hide on all 4 legs like a recumbent animal. As he tires to attack us! Like he's going to pounce on us ! As satan lies in wait for all in messing up being in disobedience unto God. Sin is deliberating as he waits at our doors, if we don't do well in mastering our sins. This is a must for us all! We Must Master satan in him trying to win everyone back over under his demon possessed authority. God ,himself tried to warn "Cain" but his own willful deadly desires to still have revenge was much greater than in pleasing God. Jesus Christ mastered sin by successfully resisting temptation and defeating the devil on the cross, that WE too, could master sin in Jesus'Name, take up our cross and then follow Jesus Christ in our own lives and WIN! catcmo2006
