"While the storm clouds gather far across the sea,
Let us swear allegiance to a land that's free,
Let us all be grateful for a land so fair,
As we raise our voices in a solemn prayer. "

God Bless America,
Land that I love.
Stand beside her, and guide her
Thru the night with a light from above.
From the mountains, to the prairies,
To the oceans, white with foam
God bless America, My home sweet home. God Bless America Midi

America in Bible Prophecy

Preview - What is America's role in end time Bible prophecy? How will the economy, military preparedness, terrorism, political isolationism, globalism and civil disturbances affect America?

As an American, one of the first questions I have when considering end-time events is, "What role does America play in prophecy?" A study of the Bible does not reveal any clear references to America, although scholars associate it with various images in scripture. Our country appears not to have a decisive or maybe even significant role in end-time events. Because America has been so influential in world events in the past, we can only speculate about what will happen to reduce our national power.

Biblical Images

One image in the Bible people associate with America is that of Babylon. Is the Babylon of the last days the ancient site in Iraq? Is it the apostate church? The world system? America? The free market system based on greed, as found in America?

There are many similarities between America and the descriptions of Babylon in Jeremiah 50-51 and Revelation 18. It is possible there will be multiple fulfillments of those passages, with America being only one. If America is the Babylon of Jeremiah 50, a vicious attack from the north will destroy the country (50:3, 9, 41 and 51:48). The only countries north of America are Canada and Russia, and the latter is the better candidate for military aggression against us. If Russia will invade America in the future, it must be before God destroys the Russian army in Israel!

Let us consider other scriptures that might refer to America. In Isaiah 18 there are two identical descriptions of an unidentified nation. In verses 2 and 7, it describes "a people tall and smooth- skinned, . . . a people feared far and wide, an aggressive nation of strange speech, whose land is divided by rivers." That is a pretty good description of today's America. Verse 7 is a very vague prophecy about that nation sending gifts to the Lord Almighty, to Mount Zion. Even if it does refer to America, it only means that the nation sends gifts. It gives little indication of the country's condition, except that it is aggressive and widely feared. This passage may not even pertain to the end times.

In Jeremiah 30:14, God says to Israel "All your allies have forgotten you; they care nothing for you." Its context shows that the verse applies to the time of "Jacob's trouble." America has been an ally of Israel, but obviously will not stand by Israel in the future.

The scriptures that describe the Russian invasion of Israel, which we will examine in the next chapter, make an interesting statement. "I will send fire on Magog and on those who live in safety in the coastlands, and they will know that I am the Lord" (Eze 39:6). "Coastlands" in Hebrew refers to coastal areas, islands and continents. This could include America. Our location on a separate continent has enabled us to "live in safety" through many military conflicts during the last century. This verse suggests either a cosmic or nuclear devastation that includes Russia (Magog) and possibly America (coastlands).

In Revelation 8:13 we read, "As I watched, I heard an eagle that was flying in midair call out in a loud voice: 'Woe! Woe! Woe to the inhabitants of the earth, because of the trumpet blasts about to be sounded by the other three angels!'"

"Midair" is a translation of a compound Greek word. The first part means mid or middle, and the second part applies to anything above the earth, such as air, sky and heavens (including the location of God's throne). This compound Greek word only appears three times in the New Testament, all in Revelation. In addition to Revelation 8:13, it occurs in 14:6 ("angel flying in midair") and 19:17 ("all the birds flying in midair"). So we can safely interpret "midair" as earth's atmosphere or the region just beyond, where satellites orbit.

The national symbol of the United States happens to be an eagle. Could the "eagle that was flying in midair" and heard by lots of people be a description of a Christian satellite broadcast from America?

American Decline

We often think of America as a Christian nation and for this reason many believe it will continue to be strong until the Lord returns. This country's founders wrote many Christian principles into its law: the equality of men, Judeo-Christian principles of justice, freedom of worship and speech, and others. Americans have supported more missionary and evangelistic efforts than any other people in history. There are churches in virtually every community. We have "In God We Trust" on our money.

But America is not a Christian nation. Political processes run the government, not righteousness. Pleasure motivates the people, not righteousness. Legal precedent and clever lawyers determine justice, not righteousness. The heart of the people determines the heart of the nation, and Americans focus on self, not God. America is a secular nation, based on some Christian principles and containing some Christian citizens. There will be Christians in America as long as there are Christians in the world, but America is not a nation of Christians. God always works with a remnant. He often chooses the few, the weak and the insignificant to demonstrate his own glory.

Like Israel, America may have to experience devastation to purify the remnant. In fact, Israel believed its status as God's chosen nation would protect it from hardship and the false prophets declared that God would not allow anything to happen to the nation. The people believed that right up to the moment they were overrun by the enemy.

One clear principle in scripture is the Law of Accountability: to whom much is given, much is demanded (Lk 12:48). God has blessed America generously. Are we using what he gave us to advance God's kingdom or to satisfy our appetites? America has squandered much of God's blessing on self-indulgence.

My opinion is that America does not play a significant role in end-time prophecy, which means it must fall from world influence.

Cosmic Disturbance

Overview - Bible prophecy describes devastation by objects from space. Historic biblical accounts describe sun darkening, meteorite storms, oceans roaring, tidal waves and cosmic fire.

There is a point in the future when the earth will be devastated by objects from space. I have used the rather generic phrase "cosmic disturbance" as a label for that event. There is evidence in scripture and elsewhere that other cosmic disturbances have occurred. In this brief article, we will not examine the many biblical descriptions of historical cosmic disturbances, but will examine the future event the Bible describes very clearly. (See the links at the end of this article for additional information.)

ASTEROIDS AND METEORITES

We are familiar with the planets in our solar system that revolve around the sun and many of us are also familiar with the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter. The asteroids in this belt actually form four narrower belts separated by three zones called Kirkwood Gaps. As asteroids bump into each other or are affected by the gravitational attractions of larger bodies such as planets and comets, some of them move out of their standard orbit into a Kirkwood Gap. Due to principles beyond the scope of this study, any asteroid that enters a Kirkwood Gap quickly leaves it on an orbit that may carry it into the inner solar system near the earth. The Kirkwood Gaps then may be a key to how asteroids from the asteroid belt reach the earth.

Asteroids in orbit move in the same direction as the planets. In size, asteroids may be microscopic and detectable only with sensitive equipment, or they may be as large as Ceres, the largest known asteroid at 623 miles in diameter.

What most of us do not realize is there are two other groups of asteroids with entirely different orbits. The Amor asteroids are in an orbit which regularly brings them near the earth's orbit. For those interested in such things, their period is 2.66 years and their perihelion (closest approach to the sun) is about 100 million miles. These asteroids only come close to earth's orbit, however gravitational attraction could draw them out of their standard orbit toward our planet.

The Apollo asteroids form another group, possibly more significant to us than the others. Their orbit actually crosses the earth's, so they are an excellent source of meteorites, which means they can enter the atmosphere and strike the earth.

In this group there are asteroids of all sizes up to 0.6 miles (1.0 km) in diameter that have had close approaches to the earth in recent decades: Hermes (0.3 miles diameter) came within 550,000 miles on October 30, 1937; Adonis (0.2 miles diameter) within 1.4 million miles on February 7, 1936; Icarus (0.6 miles diameter) within 3.7 million miles on June 14, 1967; Apollo (0.6 miles diameter) within 6.5 million miles on May 25, 1932. There are about 1000 earth- crossing asteroids with diameters of at least 0.6 miles (1.0 km). The largest earth-crossing asteroid is about 25 miles across, although none of these larger ones is known to have approached the earth.

Other asteroids have approached the earth even more recently. For example, in March 1989 an asteroid about 0.5 miles in diameter passed within about 400,000 miles. In January 1992, a 30- foot wide asteroid came as close as 106,000 miles, less than half the distance to the moon.

Any object entering the earth's atmosphere and producing a visible glow or streak is called a meteor. Any object that strikes the earth intact is a meteorite. Asteroids and debris from comets are typical sources of meteors.

Meteorites are very common on earth, especially if you include micrometeorites as small as dust particles. Debris from space constantly bombards the earth. Most of the large meteors disintegrate and burn up in the atmosphere, never reaching the surface, but the atmosphere slows most of the micrometeorites so they do not burn up. Micrometeorites have been found in ocean sediments and in high-altitude dust. The Earth may acquire more than 100,000 metric tons of meteoric material every year, but most of this consists of meteorites weighing less than a few grams. This cosmic dust rains continuously on the earth, passing through the atmosphere almost unchanged.

A meteor falling through the atmosphere may produce a fireball and a luminous streak across the sky. It can generate rumblings like thunder or even explosions if it disintegrates in flight. Most meteorites are stony and therefore brittle, so they break up in the atmosphere and land as many small fragments. The large meteorites which cause craters on earth consist mostly of metallic iron, but these are far less common than stony meteorites. A crater-forming meteorite will strike the earth (land, not ocean) about every sixteen years. Since most of the earth is uninhabited, this poses no danger to populations.

Certain types of meteors are more likely to explode in the atmosphere, rather than burn up or strike the surface. For example, one blew up over Siberia in 1908, leveling hundreds of square miles of forest and scorching a twenty-mile area. Scientists estimate that it was 0.1 miles in diameter and its explosion created a blast equal to 1000 Hiroshima bombs. People saw the meteorite 450 miles away in broad daylight and felt its explosion fifty miles away.

In the 1980's, petroleum geologists discovered a large crater, 111 miles wide, on the Yucatan peninsula of Mexico. Scientists believe it was created about the same time 70% of the animal species on earth perished. Whether the meteorite was responsible for killing the dinosaurs is a topic of scientific debate. The main point, however, is that major meteorites do occasionally strike the earth. There are large meteorite craters various places around the globe.

Scientists have developed the following impact scenario based on observed craters, layers of debris, observed meteorite impacts and computer modeling. There are many variables involved, such as the size and speed of the impacting body, its composition, its impact site, and whether it breaks up.

If a major body impacted on land, it would make a crater about ten times its diameter in size and eject about twice as much debris into the atmosphere as the meteorite contained. A dust cloud from the impact would darken the sky. A meteorite six miles in diameter could cause total darkness for up to a year. With total darkness of just a few months, temperatures on the surface would be below freezing and snowfalls of ten to twenty feet would result. If smaller bodies impacted instead of a single large one, they could start immense fires and smoke would darken the skies.

If a major body hit in an ocean, it would throw much more material into the atmosphere (salt steam, pulverized and melted rock). It also would create tsunamis thousands of feet high that would flood entire coastal areas. By comparison, the explosion of Krakatoa created a tidal wave 125 feet high. A major meteorite impact would be much more severe.

Any major meteorite would cause chemical changes in the atmosphere. The one that exploded over Siberia in 1908 produced nitrous oxides that destroyed as much as 40% of the ozone layer. Even a small asteroid would form nitric acid, which would rain down on the oceans, poisoning the water and killing marine life near the surface. The extent of the damage would depend on such factors as the meteorite's speed and distance traveled in the atmosphere.

We all know that scientific estimates can be way off, partly because man cannot account for all the variables. So an actual event could be less severe than what I have described, or it could be exactly as I have described or even worse. My intent, however, is to draw your attention to Bible prophecies that are similar to the scenario we developed and to actual recorded incidents.

THE END TIMES

Cosmic disturbances have historically played key roles in God's plan. There is enough scriptural and historical evidence of previous disasters to give credibility to prophesies of similar events in the future. Let us turn our attention now to the end times.

Jesus gave us a sequence of events in Matthew 24, which we examined in the first chapter of this book. He described a period of great distress which we call the Great Tribulation.

Then he said that something would immediately follow that period: "Immediately after the distress of those days 'the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from the sky, and the heavenly bodies will be shaken'" (Mt 24:29). This sounds very similar to events we examined in the Old Testament. The "falling stars" probably are meteors and a cloud of dust could darken the sun and moon, either cosmic dust accompanying the meteors or ejected into the air by meteorite impacts.

There is a curious phrase at the end of that verse: "the heavenly bodies will be shaken." The Greek text literally says "the powers of the heavens will be shaken." The key words are power (dunamis; power, especially inherent power), heavens (anything above the earth's surface, such as the atmosphere, sky, or God's dwelling) and shake (agitate, physical shaking; being insecure or unsettled).

The time frame of this verse is the short period immediately before the Lord's arrival to claim possession of the earth and catch the church away. Satan is about to lose control of his kingdom — it becomes Jesus' possession — including the physical universe and the lower spiritual realm, where Satan is lord or prince. His powers over these areas will definitely be insecure. Therefore, we could interpret the verse figuratively.

It is also possible to interpret the verse literally, by allowing "the powers of the heavens" to refer to the laws of creation, those inherent abilities possessed by an object in the universe. Specifically, we are aware of four basic powers in the universe: gravity, electromagnetism, strong and weak nuclear forces. It would be possible for any or all of these forces to lose their effect in the presence of a stronger force, such as the power of Jesus' presence.

In particular, we know the power of death will lose its control over the dead in Christ when he resurrects them, and the power of gravity will no longer hold them to the earth when they rise to meet the Lord in the air (1 Cor 15:52 1 Th 4:16-17). The power that binds us to our physical bodies will not prevent us from changing to eternal bodies (1 Cor 15:51, 53).

Praying God's Word

Would you like your prayers to be more powerful? Pray the Scriptures. Hebrews 4:12 says that God's Word is alive and powerful, sharper than a two-edged sword. When we speak and pray the Scriptures, we are coming into agreement with God, and His power is released to answer our prayers.

Maybe you feel like God doesn't hear your prayers? Or maybe you don't know what to pray for in certain situations. On the Prayer Promises page, I have gathered Bible Scriptures such as 1John 5:14, which tells us we can have confidence in God. Not only does He hear our prayers, but He also promises to answer them when we pray in line with His will. He hastens to perform His Word

Benefits of Praying the Scriptures

Praying the Scriptures will increase your spiritual growth. You actually learn what God says about certain situations, and by praying His Word you will see His results. Many people have testified that just by praying the healing scriptures they have been healed, physically as well as mentally.

You can live a stress free life if you will only just pray because when you pray, you are turning the situation over to God. You're taking the situation out of your hands, and putting it in His hands. You're releasing it to God. These Scripture Prayers are very easy to read, and if you'll read them every day, even within a week, you will have memorized Scripture and won't even realize it until a situation arises, or until someone asks you to pray for them.

Commitment to Pray the Scriptures

Most people when they hear the word commitment, their first response is, "I don't have time for another commitment." But if you want your circumstances in your life to change you need to make a commitment to pray the Scriptures out loud everyday. Then you will see how praying with the powerful force of God's Word will cause you to be praying in victory. You will have victory in your life, in your home, and be able to handle situations as easily as Jesus would have handled them.

It doesn't take long to read these prayers, and you can print them out and take them with you, and read them whenever you want. But it is important for you to pray the prayers outloud, even if it is in a whisper, the spoken Word, makes things happen! Why pray your prayers out loud?

How To Pray Bible Scriptures read out loud every day.

Why read them out loud?

Even at the beginning of the Bible at Genesis 1:3, notice that it starts with, "Then God said..."

In verse 6 it says again, "Then God said..."

In verse 9, the same thing. "Then God said..."

God created the heavens and the earth by speaking them into existence. By praying the scriptures out loud you are speaking God's will for your life into existence. Sure, He can hear you if you pray silently, but it is Him hearing the spoken Word that makes Him move in your behalf. Hearing the Word is what causes your faith to rise, not just reading it. There is power in the spoken Word.

Praise and Worship

Before praying, you should start with some Praise and Worship songs. You don't need a special songbook, the Bible is already full of songs. I found some of the popular Christian songs in the Bible. What better way to catch the Lord's attention, then by singing His Word in song? You can even say the verses if you can't sing. It's also a good idea to end your prayer time thanking Him for what He's going to do.

Now if you like you can start reading the Prayer Promises. These are Scriptures that promise you that He will hear your prayers and answer them. Reading these builds your confidence and your faith to believe.

The Scripture Prayers

After reading the Prayer Promises, then turn to Praying for the Government, and please pray for your government. Now if you are not in the USA, it doesn't matter, because our heavenly Father knows where you live.

Next is Praying for the Nations and all nations around the world are included in this prayer.

Praying for Jerusalem is a request from God Himself, He said, Pray for Jerusalem

When you Pray for the Missionaries, all missionaries are included, but if you know specifically a missionary's name you can say their name instead of missionaries.

The same goes for Praying For Your Pastor, personalize the prayer by saying his name instead of the word pastor.

The next prayer is Praying for Pastor's Family. It's important to pray for their family as well as the pastor, because if the enemy can't get to the pastor, he'll focus on his family. If you belong to a religion where the pastor isn't married, it doesn't matter. He still had a mom and dad and other relatives. They all need to be covered in prayer.

Praying for the Church is very important. Many problems relating to the churches and instances of strife and gossiping can be altered if you will just pray for your church. Or pray for the churches as a whole, the church, the body of Christ.

Praying for Relationships was added because at the time their were many couples having problems in their marriages. When you pray this prayer, you may see a gradual change in your partner, but the main change is what you see happening to yourself. You will change first, mostly in your attitude. And there is a certain peace when you can just release your partner into God's hands, for Him to deal with.

When I wrote Praying for the Children, I actually had my children in mind. I wanted to cover them in prayer before they go off into the world alone. I wanted them to be able to make the right decisions and stay away from all that was evil. I then realized that all children was included in the prayer. If you would like to pray for a specific child, just replacing the word children will personalize it.

The Scriptures Pages

If you are sick or in need of a spiritual healing, praying the Healing Scriptures will help you. Read them everyday, morning noon and night. You need to drench yourself in the Word of God. Not only does it build your faith to believe, it will remind you, when all those aches and pains come, that Jesus took sicknesses and diseases with Him to the cross when He died. Sickness and disease was crucified with Christ on the cross.

I had one ladythat had e-mailed me just to tell me that her friend was in intensive care, and she would go to see her and read the healing scriptures to her every day. The friend in intensive care was healed from hearing the spoken Word. I would even recommend that you make a cassette recording of the scripture prayers, and get a cassette player that has an auto reverse. Put headphones on the patient so the spoken Word of God can continually soak into their mind. I have heard this being done for people that are in a coma.

Scriptures for Needs was written because at the time I was trying to looked up every scripture I could find and wrote them down and prayed them every day to remind myself that God will supply my needs, and will make a way where there looks like there is no way. These prayers can build your faith to believe for all that God has for you, and don't forget to send the angels to cause it to come.

When I compiled the Scriptures for Encouragement it was because I was meeting so many people that were depressed and discouraged. I actually looked for prayers to encourage a person, but couldn't find any. These Scriptures will encourage you and build you up in your faith.

In Conclusion

I would like to tell you other different ways I have heard these scripture prayers being prayed. Some people just pray each page by itself. Some people pray in the spirit in between each scripture. Some people enter a praise and worship then begin to pray, and at the end of the prayer, thanking God for the outcome in advance. Which of course is a good idea because that's what faith is, believing you receive it, before you can see it.

Some people just use this as a reference, such as being on a prayer request telephone line, like prayer counselors or prayer warriors, and intercessory prayer . Even if you are waiting in traffic or sitting on a bench in the park, you can take out this Prayer Guidence out and pray. Once you see how these scriptures are put together in prayer, you can look for scriptures yourself about your certain situation and compile a prayer to pray.

Praying For Pastors

Praying For Your Pastor is very important.

They are serving God and the attacks of the enemy are non ceasing.

They must be covered in prayer on a daily basis.

This prayer can be personalized by saying his name instead of the word pastor.

You can pray for all pastors.

Praying For Pastor's Family

This prayer is called Praying for Pastor's Family.

It's important to pray for your pastor's family as well as the pastor, because if the enemy can't get to the pastor, he'll focus on his family.

If you belong to a religion where the pastor isn't married, it doesn't matter.

He still had a mom and dad and other relatives.

They all need to be covered in prayer.

You can also pray these scriptures for your own family.

Praying for Relationships was written because there are many couples having problems in their marriages.

When you pray this prayer, you may see a gradual change in your partner, but the main change is what you see happening to yourself.

You will change first, mostly in your attitude.

Even if you are waiting in traffic or sitting on a bench in the park, you can take out this booklet and pray. Once you see how these scriptures are put together in prayer, you can look for scriptures yourself about your certain situation and compile a prayer to pray.

Receive The Holy Spirit

After I gave my heart to Jesus, I continued going to a prayer group every week and kept learning and reading about the Holy Spirit in the Bible.

I must say that I was very impressed by what the Lord had to say at these meetings, and it created a thirst in me for more of Jesus.

It also created a desire for my own prayer language too.

The Holy Spirit

I began seeking to receive the Holy Spirit. I remember asking Jane how I could receive the Holy Spirit and she said, You pray to receive Him just like you received Jesus. But I didn't pursue this course until about a month later, when somehow I was given a small tract on Praying In Tongues. As I read this little tract, it felt like the jaw line on both sides of my face were tingling, and my mouth opened but nothing came out.

Later that day, I told Charlie what happened, and he said if I would have spoken something, then it would have been the prayer language. He said I needed to receive the infilling of the Holy Spirit, and would talk to Mike about praying with me. The next time I was with them, they asked me if they could pray for me, and I was ready.

Receiving the Holy Spirit Norman stood behind me and put his hands on my shoulders, and Janice held my hands. He then prayed a simple prayer. But first, he asked me if I renounced satan and all his evil works, in which I replied, Yes. And then asked me if I could say, Jesus is Lord. Which I thought strange, but he explained that evils spirits will never say, Jesus is Lord. So I said, Jesus is Lord. I repeated a short prayer at his leading, and then he closed the prayer, and they both began to pray in their own prayer tongue. Then Norman told me to start speaking some syllables without thinking about what I'm saying was somewhat the same but it's language was so different than His or His beauitful wife Janice , Man what a rejoicing time it was for me. They was happy for me just the same.

Prayer Language

In the middle of the night I woke up, and a strange language was gushing like a waterfall out of my mouth! I found out later it was a River of Living Water. I was amazed and excited. I kept praying those syllables over and over until I fell back asleep. The next morning I tried to make the words come again, but I couldn't remember them, and I couldn't do it. I called Jane and told her what happened and she invited me to another prayer meeting that night.

When we were all praying they laid their hands on me, and I felt that tingly sensation again around my mouth, and the language began pouring out of me again. Everyone was excited and praising God. This was all so new to me and I couldn't believe it was happening. I've been praying in the Spirit ever since, and that was in 1983.

Benefits of Prayer Language

I found out that having my own prayer language or as some people call it, Prayer Tongue, was my hot line to my Heavenly Father, and that the devil couldn't understand or interfere with what I was praying. Even when I didn't know how to pray or what to pray for, the Holy Spirit knows exactly what to pray for. So you actually become a vessel for His use, which was fine with me because I didn't know how to pray anyway.

For example, say there is a soldier in Iraq who was just wounded, and needs prayer to survive. How would we know that? We wouldn't. But the Holy Spirit knows, and He will use you to pray for the soldier's survival.
Or here's another example. Suppose a cancer cell is trying to form in your body. How would you know that? You wouldn't, until it grew enough. But the Holy Spirit knows all things, and if you pray in the spirit, that teeny tiny microscopic cancer cell, will be put in check, and reverse it's growth.

Final Note

The thing is, after you speak your first words of your own prayer tongue, the thought runs through your mind that it is not real, that your just making up this jibberish. But it is real, and don't let the devil (who works through your mind) tell you it is not because he doesn't want you to receive it, and he will lie, lie, lie to you, to keep you from receiving it.

Being Slain in the Spirit

Well, this should be an interesting topic to discuss.

What is Being Slain in the Spirit, what exactly happens and how does it feel?

This is not something that alot of people like to talk about, or are capable of explaining to a nonbeliever what it is, and what the benefits of doing it are.

My experience with being Slain in the Spirit was not an easy start.

After I was born again, and filled with the Holy Spirit, and attending meetings every week. I started watching Kenneth Copeland on TV and watching them at the prayer lines, laying hands on people, and then these people would fall over, like they were knocked out. I thought, What the heck is going on?

My First Experience

Well, my first experience came at a Convention that came to town. Jane, my neighbor, took me and another girlfriend. We sat in the seats and listened to all the cool teachings, but then, time came for the prayer line, or I should say, Get "slain in the Spirit" line.

Jane asked me if I wanted to get slain in the Spirit, and I said, What is it? And she just said, Well, you just get, slain in the Spirit. I just shrugged my shoulders, and said, Okay. So, we went down to the front, and got in the line with about 50 other people all lined up across the front of the auditorium.

The Prayer Line

The minister, I don't remember who it was, walked down to the far end and proceeded to put his hand on their head and pray in the spirit. I was watching out of the corner of my eye. Of course everyone's hands were raised, and everyone was praising God.

Closer and closer he got to us, and I found myself wondering what was going to happen to me. Jane was right next to me and she was next. He put his hand on her forehead and down she went, falling straight backwards.

Next in Line

Well, I was next. But when he went to put his hand on my forehead, I felt him smack my forehead with the palm of his hand, and all I did was step back and regain my balance. Then guess what, he stepped toward me and smacked me on my forehead again. I stepped back again, and he stepped toward me again! When he did this the third time, I thought, Well, I might as well fall down or this guy is going to keep smacking me on the forehead! So I did. I just tried to fall naturally and make it look real. And after I fell he continued with the people next to me.

After a few minutes of laying there, I realized other people were getting up off the floor so I slowly got up and headed back to the seat. I tried to watch each person as they seemed to have recovered from some fantastic experience which I totally missed out on, and didn't know why. Did I feel stupid? Yes.

Jane asked if I enjoyed getting slain in the spirit, in which I replied, "No, I didn't get slain in the spirit. He just kept smacking me on the head, so I pretended to fall." She replied, "I didn't even feel him touch me."

Yielding to the Holy Spirit

I said, "Well how do you get slain in the Spirit?" She said, "You have to yield yourself to the Holy Spirit." It took me several years to get up enough guts to get back in a prayer line. But when I did, it was worth every second. Maybe I had learned to yield to the Holy Spirit without even knowing it. What does Yielding to the Holy Spirit mean? It means totally trusting Him.

Here's what it is

I have gotten slain in the Spirit many times now, and here's what it is. Basically, as I said, it's a yielding to the Holy Spirit. Which means, that while you are standing in that line, all you should be thinking about is how good God is, and you should be totally relaxed. It is the power of God flowing into you when the minister, or preacher lays his hand on your forehead. This power comes from the anointing. This means, that the minister has yielded to God and the Holy Spirit, and has become a vessel for His use.

So, when the minister lays hands on each individual person, they receive what they need from God through that anointing. If you need peace, you receive peace, if you need healing, you receive healing, etc. and if you have become sensitive to the presence of God, then you will be slain in the Spirit.

What does it feel like?

It feels like you are floating in the love of God. Peacefulness and tranquillity fills you and surrounds you. What do you think about while you're on the floor slain in the Spirit? Nothing. Are you unconscious? No.

When will you get slain in the Spirit? When you're ready. How will you know when you are ready? When you're sitting in your seat and they call for an altar call, and suddenly you get the thought, "I think I'll go down there too." Then go, it's the Holy Spirit prompting you.

Are Evil Spirits Real?

Yes, of course they're real.

I find it amazing how many people believe in God yet don't believe in the devil or evil spirits.

When I gave my heart to the Lord, it was just a matter of a month or so that the devil became a reality to me.

Why is this? Because when Jesus came into my life the first thing that happened, was that I began to notice the difference in things that are meant for good, and things that are meant for evil.

Thevery first things that became very real to me that I could see the things that God was doing in my life. The blessings were flowing, and there is a certain relief to turning your life over to Jesus. I was beginning to have insight as to the evil forces around me and how they operate, and let me tell you, it was scary. I had to remain in the word of God and sing songs of praise and worship as issues came down in and around our lives. We still do just those very same things today!

The Good News

The good news is, when you become born again, you can have access to the power to fight these evil forces. If you are not born again, you have zero power. Suppose someone does something to upset you. How do you react to it? God's Word says that our fight is not with flesh and blood (people), it's with principalities and powers (evil spirits). That means there are evil spirits, and that they can motivate people to do bad things. Even though in some of the christians circles don't believe in such things that happen to people that are God's people.

The Battle of the Mind

How do these evil spirits work? The battle is always in the mind. Thoughts. That's how they get to you, by your thoughts. That's why it's important to feed on God's Word everyday, so you can learn how to discern your thoughts. Then when a thought comes to you that seems kind of off the wall, analyze it. Is this a God kind of thought, or from an evil spirit? Does it glorify God or the devil?

Does it Glorify God?

If it doesn't glorify God, dismiss it. For instance: Say you're in a shopping mall looking at stuff, and all of a sudden this thought enters your mind, like, Just slip it in your pocket, no one will notice. I would then catch that thought, and think to myself, Wow, where did that thought come from? Obviously a thought like this did not come from God because it would not glorify Him for you to steal something. And the chances are, that the devil has already made arrangements for you to get caught anyway.

How do evil spirits work?

Here's the orders for the evil spirits from the top honcho himself, Satan. Kill, steal and destroy. That's what they do. How much you let them manipulate your life is up to you, because you have the power of choice. What do they feed off of? The words of your mouth. What you say or speak. If you are speaking death, fear, and destruction in your life. Guess what, your planting seeds for bad things to happen in the future. So, watch what you say, so you don't give the evil spirits any ammunition to use against you.

The Father of Liars

Jesus called Satan a liar and the father of all lies. Look what happened when the devil approached Jesus in the Garden. Be gone, Satan, Jesus said. We need to do the same thing Jesus did, say, Begone Satan, you are a liar! Satan knew Jesus was going to be crucified, and tried to talk Him out of it by lying to Him. What Satan did not know, is that the plan of the crucifixion was to strip Satan of all his power.

The bible also calls Satan an angel of light. What does that mean? It means that even if something appears to be good in all aspects of it, yet in the end doesn't glorify God, then it's from the devil disguising himself as an angel. This is where the gift of discernment comes in.

The blessings were flowing, and there is a certain relief to turning your life over to Jesus. I was beginning to have insight as to the evil forces around me and how they operate, and in those evil spirits that can literally take a person or famlies, pastors, etc. They can come to power by allowing any kind of door of opportunity at any time, We have to very watchful at any cost !

Angels Lead People To You
Bible Sermon on Witnessing

You don't have to wonder whether or not you should witness to someone.

The angels are always working, leading people to you, so you can share with them the good news how Jesus died to purchase a place in heaven for them.

Do you think you meet people on the street or shopping by accident?

You just happen to be in the same place at the same time? No, I don't think so.

What you say to them going to be something they remember for the rest of their life? Even if you say something like Praise the Lord they will remember it at least for the rest of the day, and may even go home and tell someone what you said. Then they won't remember it until it happens again somewhere. This is all a process of planting seed. Will the seed you plant grow, or whither away and die?

The Purpose of Angels

What is the purpose of angels? Do angels exist?

I was raised in a religion that told us that every baby that is born has a guardian angel assigned to it.

Over the years this kind of teaching faded from memory, and I didn't really think about angels until usually Christmas time, and didn't have any notion of what the value of having an angel assigned to me for my entire life was.

What they don't tell you is the purpose of this guardian angel. Is it to keep you from harm?

From my experience, I would say, yes. I find it amazing that I am still alive after some close calls in my life. But sometimes things things happen and you wonder where this guardian angel is at!

Purpose of a Guardian Angel

But protecting you is not the only purpose of a guardian angel and yes I do believe every has one. The first purpose of a guardian angel is to arrange things so that in some way you are informed of Jesus and how to be born again. Whether it takes them pushing you on the street to meet someone, lead you to a church, or make it just so happen that a born again Christian comes across your path to witness to you, etc. The reason for this is because your spirit man inside of you needs to be awakened.

If you have not received Jesus as Lord of your life, and turned control of your life to Jesus then your spirit man is still dead. Once you have received Jesus, you become alive, like a new born baby. The heavenly Father becomes a reality in your life, and is a part of your life like never before. You depend entirely upon Him to straighten out all your messes.

MINISTERING ANGELS

1: 14 Are they not all ministering (leitourgikos) spirits, sent forth to minister (diakonia) to those who will inherit salvation. We have earlier mentioned that the Greek word ministering is a very special word that comes from the word 'leitourgikos' which means that they are spirits sent to minister in subordination to us. Not that they are not great in power, or not great in position, but they were sent to serve. The word ministering is not the word diakonia. The other word diakonia in Hebrews 1: 14 is the same Greek word for deacons as found in the book of Acts 6 who are people who were appointed to minister to the widows. But the word leitourgikos as found in ministering spirits is a stronger word than servant. It’s a word that implies somebody coming and subordinating under you, coming under your command.

Not all the angels are in this category. There are worship angels and they work differently. There are warring angels and they work differently. There are messenger angels and they work differently. There are angels that stand in the presence of God. All these are different beings that God has made throughout his creation. Now ministering angels are especially send to minister to all our physical needs. All that we ever need in this life, food, clothing, shelter, transportation, education. These necessities of this earthly life are in the jurisdiction of these ministering spirits. And that means a few things here. We have to respect them. We don’t just simply order them. Secondly they will not obey our command when it is not in line with the word of God. We cannot tell them to do something that is outside God's will. Now having fulfilled those conditions, the angels are sensitive to our spoken words to what we confess. And sometimes under the leading of the Spirit we will encourage you in your life to lift up your hands and to say words like for example, 'go ministering angels'. You are not talking to all angels. You are only talking to leitourgikos angels, the angels that are ministering to you. And you could lift up your hands and say, "Go ministering angels. Go forth and bring all that I need in my business, in my ministry." You can say generally. You are not asking them to do some special assignment that is up to God. You could say go forth ministering angels and bring forth your clients if you are in the business world. If you are in the ministry you could ask the angels to go forth and open all the right doors. Or if you are winning souls you can ask the angels to go forth and prepare the souls that God wants you to witness to, to share the Good News. So we can do that only to this particular group of angels.

And sometimes people misunderstand our position in two ways. One, they go over board and they do things that they are not supposed to be doing. Or secondly, they tell the wrong group of angels, warring angels or other angels which are in the different group altogether. The other day I told you about somebody praying in Hebrew although he doesn't know Hebrew. And a rabbi was there and he heard that person speaking in tongues, calling angels by name and sending them forth to different places. That was the Holy Spirit speaking through human lips. That can happen under the leading of the Holy Spirit. But bear in mind that ministering angels minister to our needs. They are interested to help you find a job, to find an open door in the ministry, to take care of your food, clothing and shelter. And if we were to learn how to co-operate with them, you will never ever lack of any good things. Because God will make sure that the angels bring them across your path. He can ask the angels to bring people who have those things into your path or He can bring them directly.

There are four different works of these ministering angels. The first is what I call education. These ministering are in charge of teaching us how to handle this life. If you are businessman they will teach you how to do business. If you are in the ministry they will teach you how to minister the way God wants you to. And the Holy Spirit is our ultimate teacher. But some of those things the Holy Spirit have instructed the angels to educate us and help us to function in those things.

Look at Genesis you see angels teaching Jacob how to prosper. Jacob was actually struggling in his work. He was being cheated ten times. His salary was changed by Laban. And it looks like there is no way he could prosper in that situation. And God taught Jacob what to do. In Genesis 30 we see Jacob doing a very strange thing. We realize that we can be educated in this life. We receive an education in the natural world. We receive spiritual education through Bible College. But there is something that we need to be personally trained in. God may have a special skill in your life and the angels may be giving you a special instruction in some way. I was reading in one article about how this professional golfer used to play golf in a certain way and then he reached his maximum potential. One day in a dream he saw that he should hold the golf club differently. And so when he woke up and started playing golf professionally, he started holding the golf club in the way he saw in the dream. And suddenly he began to do things that he couldn't do before. I believe that in such occasion these are the little skills that the angels sometimes are in charge to teach us. The schools don't teach us and the angels teach us. The main teacher is the Holy Spirit. Even the angels teaching are through the permission of the Holy Spirit. When you were little babies you not only have your father and mother you have your guardian angel. Just because we grow up doesn't mean that we lost our guardian angel. They are still teaching us a lot of things.

Jacob in Genesis 30 was not prospering. He was working very hard but he was not prospering because he was under Laban who was cheating him all the time. And he did a very strange thing. No human being taught him that. Look at Genesis 30: 37-39 Jacob took for himself rods of green poplar and of the almond and chestnut trees, and peeled white stripes in them, and exposed the white which was in the rods. And the rods which he had peeled, he set before the flock in the watering troughs where the flocks came to drink, so that they should conceive when they came to drink. So the flocks conceived before the rods, and the flocks brought forth striped, speckled and spotted.

Somebody taught him how to make those things and put it there, the angels of God. In verse thirty nine so the flocks conceived before the rods and the flocks brought forth striped, spotted and speckled. An interesting phenomena where somebody taught Jacob to do that. The angels of God will sometimes give you ideas especially in the line of your profession or in your food, clothing shelter, education all these areas. A lot of our physical work in this life have been assigned to angels to help us in those things. In chapter thirty Jacob tells us how he learned all those things. Genesis 31: 6-12 And you know that with all my might I have served your father. Your father have deceived me and changed my wages ten times, but God did not allow him to hurt me. If he said thus: "The speckled shall be your wages,' then all the flock bore speckled. And if he said thus: "The streaked shall be your wages,' then all the flocks bore streaked. So God have taken all the livestock of your father and given them to me. And it happened at that time when the flocks conceived, that I lifted up my eyes and saw in a dream, behold, the rams which leaped upon the flocks were streaked, speckled, and gray-spotted. Then the Angel of God spoke to me in a dream, saying, 'Jacob.' And I said, 'Here I am.' And He said, 'Lift up your eyes now and see, all the rams which leaped on the flock are streaked, speckled and gray spotted; for I have seen all that Laban is doing to you.

And it is this same angel that is implied that taught Jacob how to do these things in the physical realm. These are all the little education that the angels are assigned to bring to us. They minister to our needs. The first area of ministering is under education. They educate us in our food, clothing shelter etc. And because the angels are working in all these areas that the angels will make every good professional help in all the different areas. Because they are skillful, God in all those different areas assigns them. And if we were to hearken to those angelic help that is given to us, it can come in a dream. It can come in an idea. And you experiment in those things. You will find some new things that man has not discovered yet. Mankind hasn't discovered everything yet. There is still a long way to go for many different things. The world is still open to new ideas. There are still new inventions that you can do. There is no end to it. Sometimes the world looks like it is stagnant. That is because they lack fresh ideas. And if God call you to a professional area. Be sure that the angels of God will teach you to prosper in your profession. Their first role is what I call education. They teach us in all the needs of this life.

The second area is direction. Turn to the book of Matthew chapter one. This is a love story. Joseph loved Mary very much and they were both engaged to be married. And suddenly Mary was found with child of the Holy Spirit. And she had a tremendous testimony. But Joseph found it hard to believe that it actually happened. An angel appeared to Mary and say that she has a conception that is unique. In verse nineteen Joseph was troubled. Then Joseph her husband being a just man and not wanting to make her a public example was minded to put her away secretly. Now he was thinking and thinking what to do. He still loved Mary but he couldn't accept her experience. He couldn't accept what she was saying. And he didn't want to make her ashamed. And in his mind he was thinking of putting her away. He probably has made up his mind that he is going to do that the next morning. Verse twenty while he thought about these things behold an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, "Joseph, son of David do not be afraid to take to you Mary your wife, for that which is conceived in her is that of the Holy Spirit. And she will bring forth a son and you shall call His name Jesus. For He will save His people from their sins. Verse twenty four Joseph when he woke up being arouse from sleep did as the angel of the Lord commanded him.

So angels could be involved in our direction. We need to be opened to them. Sometimes you may be making a wrong decision in your life. And you have already made up your mind and the next day you are going to take the action. That night God may speak to you through an angel in some way or in some form. But sadly sometimes when we received those messages we treat it as a dream and not an angelic message and we never follow through and we suffer the consequences. The angels have been directing Joseph also at other times in Matthew 2: 13 When the wise men had departed an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream saying arise take the young child and his mother and flee to Egypt and stay there until I bring you word. For Herod will seek the young child to destroy him. He went, who will want to shift the location of your home just because of one angelic message through a dream. Not many of us will want to shift to another city to live just because of an angelic message or because of a dream.

Now we don’t just go by dreams or by angelic message. It must be confirmed in our inner witness. These are all I call supplementary messages to strengthen what God is already speaking on our inside. If it is a major thing make sure you seek counsel and don’t just go by every dream or vision. It has to be in line with the will of God. Some people who are not solidly grounded in the word will just make a sudden decision which is not in line with the word of God. On the other hand, some will just try to follow a dream or vision which goes against other principles in the word of God. The point we are making here is that it is significant that the direction that Joseph received was all from an angel and it involved his entire life and family. It meant pulling out his roots from his home town and going to another nation to live until it was time and God send him back again through a dream.

Angels can give direction. In the book of Acts 8 the Holy Spirit and the angel worked together. An angel of God told Philip go and stand at the crossroad. So it was not the Holy Spirit who gave Philip the direction here but it was an angel. As Philip was standing at the cross road the Holy Spirit told him go and join himself to the chariot. So there was a Holy Spirit and there was an angel. Why should we receive direction from angels? It is still the Holy Spirit who happens to use what I call the means to direct us. Some of us say when angels direct us we work. I don’t think so because many times we doubt. We just cannot believe that God will want us to do some of those things. In fact by the time angels moved and work they are supplementary. It is because God has been working on our inward witness and we are not fully flowing with it. God will always speak through the Holy Spirit and direct us through the Holy Spirit. But God uses the Holy Spirit as a second line of direction or second line of guidance to strengthen what we already received in our inward witness. And this is where the angels come in. God knows that we don’t change easily. And we are not creatures willing to change especially when it comes to a major area. And He supplements the direction of the Holy Spirit through angelic help.

Number one education, number two direction, number three protection. Lets turn to the book of Daniel 6: 7 There was a law that these have come out with that says all the governors of the kingdom, the administrators and satraps, the adviser have consulted together to establish as royal statute. And to make a firm decree that who ever petition any god or man for thirty days except you O king shall be cast into the den of lions. We all know the story of Daniel and the lions' den. People can always rationalize what took place down there. Sometimes people say the lions are very old. Others say the lions were very well fed so they didn’t feel like eating Daniel. But all these are wrong stories because we know in Daniel 6: 24 that when the other people were thrown down into the lions' den, they were overpowered and killed. When the other people were thrown in, (Daniel's accusers) when they cast them into the den of lions and the lions overpowered them and broke all their bones in pieces before they ever came to the bottom of the den. These were wild lions and yet when Daniel was thrown, Daniel was found alive and he said in verse twenty two. My God send his angels and shut the lions' mouth so that they have not hurt me because I was found innocent before him. And also O king I have done no wrong before you. Angels were protecting Daniel all the time.

Angels work in education, direction, protection and number four provision. Angels guide us to find food, clothing and shelter. Angelic help is always involved. Turn to the book of First Kings 19: 4, angels are interested in providing for us. Elijah was discouraged and he was down. But he himself went a day's journey into the wilderness and came and sat down under a broom tree. And he prayed that he might die and said it is enough, now Lord take my life for I am not better than my fathers. And as he lay and slept under a broom tree, suddenly an angel touched him. Now Elijah didn’t realize the things he was facing. Number one he had loneliness. Number two he was exhausted. God send him an angel and the angel said, "Arise and eat." Look at what he ate in verse six, then he look and there was a cake baked and a jar of water. He never asked where it came from. Verse six tells you angels can be very good cooks. Don’t go around your kitchen and order the angels to cook. They will not obey your every whims and fancies. In verse seven the angel of the Lord came back a second time touched him and said arise and eat because the journey is too great for you. So he arose and ate and drank and he went into the strength of that food, forty days and forty nights as far as Horeb the mountain of God. I love that kind of food which allows you to eat once in forty days.

There is an interesting incident in the gospel of John 21: 5. The disciples were in the sea but the distance was near enough for them to communicate and Jesus said to them, children have you any food. They answered him no. Then he said to them cast the net on the right side of the boat and you will find some. So they cast and now they were not able to drag in because of the multitude of fish. Therefore the disciples of Jesus said to Peter it is the Lord. And Peter dive in and swam to the Lord but the other disciples have to slowly come because the boast was full of fish. In verse nine and as soon as they come to land they saw a fire of coals there and fish laid on it and bread. The Lord made breakfast for them. Jesus said in verse ten bring some of the fish you have just caught. And Peter went and dragged the net to land full of large one hundred and fifty three. Then in verse twelve Jesus said come and eat breakfast. God is interested in our provision and he has assigned angels to take care of provision.

In some of the stories you see in Hagar there was no food and the baby was dying. The angels were in charge of the provisions for them. Angels were in charge of education and to teach us how to get the things of this life. Angels are in charge of our protection and our provision and our direction. These are the four areas that we are touching on, education, direction, protection and provision.

Now lets look at the common element that takes place so that these four areas of angelic help can work in our life. Lets start looking again at Jacob and draw some pointers how he co-operated with those angels in order for these things to work. In the book of Genesis 31: 10 He lifted up his eyes and he saw in his dreams spotted, speckled, stripes and the angels talking to him in verse twelve saying, lift up your eyes now and see all the rams which leaped on the flocks are stripes, speckled, spotted, for I have seen all that Laban has been doing to you. Now why did the angel work in his life? Because in verse thirteen it says, "I am the God of Bethel where you anointed the pillar, where you made a vow to me. Now arise get out of this land and return to the land of your kindred." There was a special thing in that message. The God of Bethel is a new name that God took because Bethel was nothing before Jacob's time. Bethel was a name that Jacob gave to the place where he had a dream of the angels ascending and descending on Jacob's ladder.

Lets look at Genesis 28: 12 as he was running away from his brother he dreamt. And behold a ladder was set up on the earth and its top reached to heaven and the angels of God were ascending and descending on it. And behold the Lord stood above it and said I am the God of Abraham your father and the God of Isaac the land on which you lie I will give to you and your descendants. Jacob had actually been dedicated to God when Isaac laid his hands on him. He had been covenanted to God. The covenant life was now flowing to him. That's why the angels were now working in his life. Its important to dedicate ourselves to God. And the message of the Lord continues in verse fifteen. Behold I am with you and will keep you wherever you go and will bring you back to this land for I will not leave you until I have done what I have spoken to you. Now look at what Jacob replied to God in verse sixteen. Surely the Lord is in this place and I did not know it. Is it possible to have the Lord in a place? Yes, it is possible to have something spiritual and not knowing it. It is possible to have some special manifestation, visitation or blessing and not knowing it.

Verse seventeen he also prayed and said, how awesome is this place there is none other than the house of God and this is the gate of heaven. And he called the place Bethel house of God. That was a name given by Jacob and later on in his life some twenty years later the God whom he had met here appeared to him again. In verse eighteen he rose early in the morning took the stone and put it on his head set it up as a pillar and poured oil on it and he call the name of the place Bethel. Now God didn't ask him to pour oil. He of his own initiative did it. Now there are some more messages here that teach us about angels providing for us and educating us and teaching us. We see first of all the name is special I am the God of Bethel the house of God. For us to be educated by angels we must be faithful to the things of God's house in other words of God. There is no point if you don’t want a proper education. You want to be self-taught and everything is through tuition. We realize that at least there must be a basic before we can go on. The angelic education is supplementary its not supposed to be the main one. We should be faithful to the education we can receive in God's house, with the word of God, through books, whatever we must be faithful to educate ourselves in that area then the angels of God will supplement.

Second is the work of anointing. He anointed the pillar with oil. Oil symbolizes the Holy Spirit. We must learn from the Spirit of God who will teach us and lead us into all truth. In the book of First John 2: 27 the anointing within you is able to teach you. We must be faithful to the anointing within. Now angels will not educate us if we didn’t do our best. We must do the best that we can first then we can expect angelic help. You notice that when the angels came to Jesus at Gethsemane and in the gospel of Mark 1 when He was in the wilderness they didn't come at the beginning. And Jesus for forty days and forty nights was tempted by satan. The angels never came to help Him. The angels only came when He completed the temptation. You see don't expect the angels to short-circuit the process and your life is just a fatso life, just lying down and say yes angels bring this here and we don’t do anything. No we are not on this for vacation. There is a work of God to be done. We are here as pilgrims on a journey helping others to know God. We must do our best in all that we know and the angels will supplement.

Turn over to the gospel of Mark 1: 13 and this is a similar thing in Gethsemane. And he was there in the wilderness for forty days tempted by satan and was with the wild beasts and the angels ministered to him. The scenario was the same as the story in Gethsemane. The angels came towards the end. Angels were not allowed to interfere on what was going on. He had to complete that and do His best before the angels could come in. We need to follow the inward witness as much as we know how. and obey the anointing within. First John 2: 27 indicates that the anointing educate and teach you all the things you need to know about this life. And the angels will supplement what is necessary. So the oil represents the anointing of God and the Holy Spirit.

Number three Genesis 28:20-22 Then Jacob made a vow, saying, "If God will be with me, and keep me in this way that I am going, and give me bread to eat and clothing to put on, so that I come back to my father's house in peace, then the Lord shall be my God. And this stone which I have set as a pillar shall be God's house, and of all that you will give me I will surely give a tenth to you." He made a covenant with God. A tithe is a symbol of covenant you have with God. And that is why the angel came to help him. In the book of Genesis an angel appeared in a dream when he was being cheated. Jacob had obeyed God as much as he knows how. And he was at the end of himself and then God started working in his life through the angels.

Joseph's life in Matthew 1 the angel gave him direction. There are certain conditions for angels to direct us. Matthew 1:19 Joseph her husband being a just man. Number one we must want to do right. If in our heart we intend to do wrong don’t expect angelic direction. We have to deal with our own flesh. Joseph was a just man and he really wanted to do what was right. But what was right in his mind and in his calculation happened to be wrong. He didn’t understand why these things were happening. He didn’t understand and couldn't accept Mary's experience. But he was a very righteous man and was true to his conscience. He didn’t want Mary to be put to shame. And he just wanted to cover and protect everything and just quietly go off.

Number one the direction will come if we are desirous to do the right thing. Verse nineteen being a just man not wanting to make her a public example: he was, number two, a man of love and compassion. When you always seek the ways of compassion and the ways to walk in life God will direct your path. The way of love and compassion is the best way. He could be angry with her and do anything. He never did any of these things because he love Mary. Joseph was a man of love and compassion. When we have hate, anger and all the other things, angels cannot help us because our life is not right. But out of love you want to do the most loving thing possible and sometimes the most loving thing may also be the wrong thing; it may actually cause more hurt, even though your intentions are right. All of us can make mistakes like that. Sometimes the way they express their love to you is not received. Just like sometimes a man may have his good intentions misinterpreted when he gives something to his wife on a special occasion like her birthday or anniversary. Instead of buying her flowers he bought her a washing machine. You may have remembered all the times she slaved in washing clothes but she can be very upset. "Who do you think I am, a washerwoman?" When a man does that he may be doing it out of love. Sometimes we intend something in love but it is not expressed in a way that the other person understands. Sometimes our heart is full of love but when we express it, it is not received as love. It is received as interference, received as busybody, received as all kinds of wrong things. So here Joseph had good intentions, what he wanted to do was wrong in God's sight. It was the wrong method because he got the wrong understanding. But basically he loved Mary still. If he didn’t love Mary he would have chased her out. That is number two he had a heart full of love and wanted to put her away secretly.

Number three verse twenty four Joseph being aroused from sleep did as the angel of the Lord commanded him, and took him his wife and did not know her till she had brought forth her first born son and he call his name Jesus. Now he was a very upright man. He respected what was going on here. And the third point in receiving direction was he was willing and obedient. When you are willing and obedient you will eat the good of the land. It is important to note that to receive direction we must have righteousness in our conscience. We must have love and compassion and we must be people who are willing to obey. And because of these things the angels found it good to work with him. That is why sometimes angels don’t seem to direct our life because we didn't fulfill all these conditions.

Let's look at Daniel 6 for God to protect you it should never be a last minute thing. There are principles behind God protecting in our lives through angels that we must adhere to. I mean Daniel didn't start his prayer life as he was about to be thrown into the lion's den. He was thrown into the lion's den because of his prayer life. So sometimes people start their prayers too late. They don't look for God all their life and suddenly they are in trouble. At the last minute they look for God for protection. It would just be like Daniel being tied up and about to be thrown into the lion's den. As you are being thrown into the lion's den, you start saying your prayers. You got only a few seconds from the top of the pit to the bottom of the den to say your prayers. I don't think you would have much time. There must be some principles behind angels protecting us. Number one consistency. A consistent prayer life and word life. That means whether there is danger or no danger, whether there is crisis or no crisis, you maintain a good devotional life with God. Don’t wait till the last minute. In prosperity or adversity you maintain your prayer life with God. You watch how God protect people with angels. You will find that those are the same people who are very consistent with God. In season and out season they are very consistent in their prayer life with God. In revivals and between special revivals they will always be consistent. Number one consistency. Daniel was consistently praying all his life. Lets look at verse ten. Daniel knew that the writing was signed and he went home and in his upper room with his windows opened towards Jerusalem. He knelt down on his knees three times that day and prayed and gave thanks before his God as was his custom since early days. Number one consistency that is why the angels protected him.

Number two look at verse twenty two. My God send his angels and shut the lion's mouth so that they have not hurt me. And he give his reason: because I was found innocent before him. Number two obedience to God's law and God's command. He has not broken any of God's law. When you break God's law you don't expect angelic protection. If they ever protected you it is because of His mercy and His grace that will cover you for sometime until you reach a point where He will not cover you any more. Number two Daniel was obedient to God's law.

Number three is also important. Also in verse twenty two. Also O king I have done no wrong before you. Number three blameless. He has not broken man's law. These are the kind of people that God loves.

Finally in First Kings 19 we see angelic provision. The angel provided Elisha with special food.1 Kings 19: 3-4 When he saw that he arose and ran for his life, and went to Beersheba in Judah and left his servant there. He himself went a day's journey into the wilderness and prayed that he might die, and said, "It is enough! Now, Lord, take my life, for I am no better than my fathers! We also need to cross reference to verse fourteen, And he said, "I have been very zealous for the Lord God of Hosts because the children of Israel forsaken your covenant, torn down your altars, killed Your prophets with the sword. I alone am left and they seek to take my life. The plus point for Elisha was that he was zealous for God. For God to provide for us number one we must not be halfhearted people. God doesn't like to prosper people who are half hearted. God prosper people who love Him with all their heart, with their entire mind, with all their soul and with all their strength. Number one zeal for God. When you are zealous for God you do things different from other people.

Do you know that two Christians can do the same job differently? You can do the job with zeal and without zeal. When you look at Christians doing a job without zeal just like they got no heart to do it, they never prosper. God don’t open more doors to bring prosperity. Christians who are zealous, whether to sweep the floor or even if they are working in a little job that earn them a few hundred dollars a month, they do it with great zeal, with great joy. They do it not onto man but onto God. God prosper them. So why didn't God prosper because we are half hearted. We don't give our whole heart to do whatever needs to be done. If you are a road sweeper make yourself the best road sweeper. If you are an engineer make yourself the best engineer. Not because of your company but because you are serve as if you are serving onto God. Whatever job you are doing you are doing as unto the Lord and that is in the writing of Paul in his epistle we do it as unto God. So if we don’t do what we need to do zealously, we will have no promotion, no blessings, no more open doors, no more prosperity coming. Whatever we have we are stuck, we are stagnant.

Number one is zeal for God. Why did God love to provide for Elijah? He had zeal. Even his prophetic ministry was because of his zeal. Look at 1 Kings 19: 7 The angel said to him, "Arise and eat because the journey is too great for you." Number two you must stretch yourself to your limits and then God will provide the extra. If you believe God for anything and you have not stretch yourself to the best of your limits. God doesn't seem to operate through his angels in provision. But when you have done all you know to give away and to do the right thing. I don’t mean giving just foolishly. Or by whims and fancies. The best type of giving is planned giving. When it becomes too great for you the angels will come and supplement. Because planned stretching is stretching which is for a consistent period. It is just like once in a blue mood you go for a marathon run. You don't do it that way. You should be running a little bit every two days and building your stamina up. That is better for your body and for your health than once a year go for marathon run when you never run before. That kind of over stretching is wrong. It is not planned not disciplined and not proper. Sometimes people stretch themselves without planning. So when we stretch ourselves to the limits and we have done our best God will add the extra grace. That is number two.

And number three in 1 Kings 19: 11 Then He said, "Go out, and stand on the mountain before the Lord." And as he stood there different things happened but finally in verse twelve after the fire a still small voice and he ask him the same question in verse thirteen. What are you doing here Elijah? This is not the first time. The first time was found in verse nine. What are you doing here Elijah? And He revealed to him special things in I Kings 19: 15-18. He reveals His will for him, what he must continue doing. So our third point is the will of God. When we do the will of God and keep consistently doing the will of God, God will provide for you. When we are outside His will then we run into trouble. So the angels of God work in providing education, direction, protection and provision. And each has its proper principles to bring us to the position for the angels of God to work in our lives.

Secret Agents

Back to the angels. Angels are like secret agents working in our behalf. God's angels move in response to His Word being spoken, words coming from our lips. They are "working" angels, they don't just follow you around because they have nothing else to do. They follow you around waiting for you "to tell them what to do." But things they do can only be done from a spiritual perspective. Like, they're not going to move your furniture for you.

Put Your Angel to Work

Here's an example of how to put your angel to work. Suppose you are having trouble with your finances. You need money to pay a bill that popped up. First you pray to the Father for the extra income to pay this bill (ask and you shall receive) but, you have to release the angels to "go, and cause it to come." Do you do that? I'll bet you didn't know that! Maybe you are praying for a soldier overseas? Release the angels to go protect them! Sending your children off to school? Send the angels with them! Are you believing God for money for a mission trip? Send the the angels to go and cause the money to come.

Warrior Angels

The more you "dive" into the Word of God, the more you will see the value of angels. They do your spiritual fighting for you. Are you afraid to go witnessing? A child of God that heads into the the mission field to witness, say even door to door, gets assigned a special angel. They get assigned a "warrior" angel.

I've been on the mission field and have not actually seen these warrior angels, but once I actually felt their presence. I don't want to say I saw a ghost, but in the spirit realm, I did see my own warrior angel. And let me tell you, they're not like those cute little angels they have a Christmas, they are huge and they are powerful! When you are fighting principalities and powers, you need these warrior angels to fight for you and protect you.

Born Again

How come I didn't hear any bells and whistles go off when I prayed the prayer?
When you prayed the prayer for salvation, you received Jesus into your heart by faith. Faith is not a feeling. You can't see faith, hear faith or touch faith. Faith is believing. You have to believe you receive, when you pray. Just because you didn't hear anything, you can be assured that tens of thousands of angels are rejoicing.

What does being Born Again mean?
The term born again is used because of something Jesus said. He said, To enter the kingdom of heaven,
you must be born of water and of the spirit.
When we are born into this world, we are naturally born of water
because you're inside your mother's womb. You are born of the spirit when you receive Jesus. Your spirit
which is inside of you, since you were born, becomes quickened or woke up, so to speak.

What does repenting of your sins mean?
If you truly want to repent of your sins, that means that you are going to stop doing things that you know are wrong. God created all of us with the ability of knowing the difference between right and wrong. Say for instance if a person steals, well, they know it's wrong, so repenting of your sins would be that they would stop stealing. They turn away from doing what they know is wrong. Like if you're walking in one direction and you suddenly turn around, and start walking in the other direction. You decide to go a different direction.

What sins will God forgive?
Forgiveness of sins is something different. You have to ask your Heavenly Father to forgive your sins. Once you say, God forgive me for my past sins, guess what, He takes your past sins and tosses them into the deepest part of the deep blue sea never to be remembered again. You become clean like a new born baby. You start on a new clean slate.

When you go to bed every night, before you go to sleep you should say, Father forgive me for my sins today, because you have no idea which sins you committed that day even if you feel you didn't commit any. And if you do something, and then later realize it was probably a sin, then just say, Father, forgive me for doing that, I'll try not to do it again. It's impossible for us to live sin-free lives. We can only do the best we can. But His forgiveness is always there. He loves us so very much, and He is happy to forgive us.

Why do I have continual conflicts in my mind?
If you prayed a prayer for forgiveness, and you are still having conflicts in your mind about your past, then it's possible you haven't forgiven yourself. So forgive yourself so you can go on with God. Toss those past sins into the deepest part of the sea just like God does, and stop reminding yourself of them. If a past sin or thought pops into your mind tell yourself, I've already been forgiven for that.

If there are people that have done you wrong in the past, you need to forgive them too, and release them so God can deal with them. That takes it all out of your hands. You just release them to God.

What does it mean when Jesus' comes into my heart?
When you ask Jesus to come into your heart, you are inviting Him to take control your life because your life is very possibly out of control.

What is God's plan for my life?
God does have a plan for your life. He has drawn you to Himself by His Holy Spirit and He will never leave you or forsake you. What does forsake mean? It means, He'll never forget about you.
The first thing you need to do is tell someone, anyone, possibly someone close to you that you asked Jesus to come into your heart. Then find yourself a bible and start reading and you don't have to start in the Old Testament like I did. Check out a church nearby and go. But the main thing you should have right now is peace and comfort in knowing that you have given Jesus control of your lifeSpiritual Questionaire you know if you're going to heaven when you die? Answer To Spiritual QuestionWhat is Saving Faith?

We receive God's gift of eternal life by faith.

Faith is the key that unlocks the door to heaven.

"For by grace you have been saved through faith ..." Ephesians 2:8

Faith that saves is not just an intellectual understanding of the biblical facts,
nor is it just a trust in God for the temporary needs of life such as health or finances.

"Saving" faith is trusting that Jesus' sacrificial death, burial and resurrection purchased eternal life for you.

What is Temporary Faith?

Okay, let's see if I can explain to you in simple terms, what "temporary" faith is.

Suppose you are in a car accident and are seriously injured, and you don't know if you are going to make it.
You pray to God at that moment, that He gets you out of there, and that you will survive.
They get you out, you're in the hospital for a couple of weeks with a broken this or that,
and then you get out of the hospital and then start your daily routine again.
You forget that it was your faith in God that got you out, and you continue
your daily life in forgetfulness of the great thing God did for you till you need Him again.

Here's another example:

The end of the month is coming up and you don't have enough money to pay the rent.
You pray and ask God to somehow help you come up with the rent. Then by some miracle,
the money comes in and you pay the rent. Then afterwards you don't really think about God
till your next desperate need comes up.

Temporary faith is when you believe in Him for finances or needs etc.
and then after your needs are met you stop believing.

Are you ready to receive the gift of eternal life, and trust

in what Jesus has already done for you on the cross?

You Can Be Born Again

To express our faith and put our new desires into action,
God allows us to talk to Him directly. This is called prayer.

If you would like to receive the gift of eternal life,

prayer this prayer outloud right now

Heavenly Father, I believe that Jesus is Your Son,

that He came and died on the cross, and rose again from the dead.

Father, forgive me for my sins.

Jesus, come into my heart, take control of my life

fill me with your Holy Spirit. I make You Lord of my life.

In Jesus' name I pray. Amen

Thank you Jesus for saving me!

Welcome to the Family of God!

But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those
who believe in His name.
John 1:12

As a result of your commitment to Christ by faith,
you are now a child of God! Nothing or no one can
separate you from God. (Romans 8:38,39)

Great joy takes place in heaven when a person turns from sin to the Savior, Jesus Christ. The Bible tells us that

...there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents (Luke 15:10).

If you have truly repented of your sins and placed your faith totally in Jesus

Here is something I know that You will keep until You go home to be with Jesus stick it your bible or place on a picture frame . Just think You'll be up their having a party with the Old Testiment saints, New Testiment saints and whom know who'll You'll see!

My Spiritual Birth Certificate

"For whoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." Romans 10:13

Knowing that I have sinned and that I need the Lord Jesus Christ as my Savior, I now turn from my sins and trust Jesus for my eternal life.

I ask Jesus Christ to forgive me and to deliver me from sin's power and give me eternal life.

I now give Jesus Christ control of my life.

From this time forward, as He gives me strength, I will seek to serve Him and obey Him in all areas of my life.
